EWB-University of Washington is looking for mentors, for this summer’s implementation trip to Bolivia. The project consists of refurbishing a gravity feed potable water system for a community of 30 people in the Acasio, Bolivia. The distribution system will be redone as well as seep improvements. This opportunity will involve organizing a team and working with with project partners to design and oversee construction of a college campus in the Teso Region of Uganda. Our project partner is a well-established Seattle-based NGO, Pilgrim Africa, that has been working in the community for several years. We will be coordinating with Columbia University EWB who has already been working with Pilgrim on previous projects in the community. Gambia Grain-Mill (UW) Volunteer Opportunity - Gambia Grain Mill Project. The Gambia Grain Mill project group is having its first meeting this Wednesday (Feb 4). If you are interested in working on this project, please attend the first meeting and many questions you might have can be answered. Where: More Hall Faculty Library (2nd Floor). When: Wednesday, February 4th, 5:00p.m. The purpose of this meeting is to: 1. Listen to Stan Stumbo talk about the goals of the project, 2. Take a look at the grain mills, 3. Form into teams, 4. Set a rough timeline up. This meeting may very well take up to two hours, so please bring your thinking caps and patience.
